Hawkshead is a very quaint village with buildings dating back to the 17th century and with close ties to both Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.
The Hawkshead Christmas Fair is an annual institution in this most Christmassy of Lakeland villages. In 2019 it’s on 7th and 8th December from 10am-5pm, with a lantern procession from 4.30pm on the Saturday.
The event is a Christmas fair filled with craft, local produce and festive gift stalls, with entertainment provided by local bands, choirs and street entertainers. And of course Santa joins in the fun.
So if you're visiting the South Lakes area or heading to Hawkshead especially for the Christmas Fair they would love to see you - they are easy to find and there's plenty of parking too!
And best of all the event is free!
