The Winter Droving at Penrith. Why not immerse yourself this October in a traditional Cumbrian celebration. The Winter Droving, is a rural Cumbrian gathering that involves arts and crafts and of course a traditional market selling local fare. Some wacky traditional games are on the cards and attendees can expect to take part in the likes of tug of war and hay bale racing to win the Drovers Cup.
To add to the atmosphere, after dark there is a torchlit procession featuring masked attendees and traditional music. The Winter droving is all about heralding in the Winter in a whirl of lights, music and celebration of agricultural heritage.
This year the Winter droving will feature on the craft stalls Lancashire based 'Crafty Vintage', who bring with them a range of eco-friendly gifts and offerings.
The Winter Droving takes place on Saturday the 27th of October between 10am and 9pm. Entry is free.
