Legendary songwriter, Roddy Woomble will perform at the Old Fire station in Carlisle, on Sunday the 11th of November. The former Idlewild frontman is a Scottish indie legend and is touring his debut solo album; My Secret Is My Silence, to mark ten years since its original release.
Growing up between America, France, and Scotland, Woomble’s work is informed by many different styles which combine to produce his unique take on modern indie-folk. Woomble now lives on the Hebridean island of Mull, where he holds a yearly folk festival in Iona. He has recently published, a collection of words, lyrics, and photographs from tours both with Idlewild and as a solo artist and of life on Mull.
The show is expected to include trademark Woomble musical-intimacy rounded off by the melancholy blues of his voice and evocative lyrics.
Tickets are priced at £15 per head. The show starts at 8 pm and goes on until 10:45. For more info head over to the Old Fire Station Website
