One for all you poetry fans! On at Tullie House Museum in Cumbria, is an exhibition called “Picture the Poet”.
The exhibition is a collection of photography of some of the most prominent poets active on the scene today. The photos are of an extremely high quality and are mainly presented in portrait form. The exhibition comes directly from the National Portrait Gallery, in London.
The National Literacy Trust and Apples & Snakes have also supported the project through a combined partnership programme.
The poets features in the exhibition include the likes of Benjamin Zephaniah, Dame Carol Ann Duffy, and Michael Rosen. The images are striking and at times provocative. Put together by acclaimed photographers such as Madeleine Waller, Jemimah Kuhfeld, and Donald MacLellan, Picture the Poet is a must see exhibit for all literary fans.
The exhibition runs until March 6th. Group rates are £4.50pp (min group size 10). Curatorial talks are an extra £2.00 per person.
