On the 27th and 28th September, Kendal will celebrate its 49th Kendal Torchlight Carnival, with a weekend of fun, celebrations and entertainment.
The procession will commence at 7pm on Friday 27th September. This year’s theme celebrates “Made in the Lakes” and will see more than 1200 participants bring the town to life with a host of carnival creations as the procession makes its way around the 4 mile loop. The procession will be made up of large sculptures, carnival floats, vintage vehicles, walking groups, dancers, stilt walkers, cyclists, entertainers and musicians will fill the streets with crazy costumes, lighting, music and other artistic creations.
On Saturday the 28th September, the party continues from 10am-5pm throughout the town centre. Entertainment will include 3 music stages, a vintage fair, street performers, skills workshops, craft stalls, dancers, samba bands, entertainers and a daytime carnival procession.
