On August 13th, the Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage will visit the Lake District, for an unmissable evening at Dove Cottage. Armitage is an award-winning poet, playwright, and novelist, has this year become the Poet Laureate.
He will be reading from his collection of work, which is peppered with humour and features at length the use of conversational speech. The evening will no doubt be rammed with a captive audience and looks set to be an intimate and memorable affair.
The event will take place in the stylish and contemporary Waterside Room, which overlooks out over the beautiful fells and is of course right next to Dove Cottage, a one time base of William Wordsworth.
Tickets are priced at £11 each and the event runs from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. There is wheelchair access and coach parties are accepted. Dove Cottage can be found at Town End, Grasmere, Cumbria, LA22 9SH.
