Kendal Torchlight Carnival

Not to be missed, this year's annual Kendal Torchlight Carnival, is set to be another colourful spectacle for all the family. Each year this parade of floats and costume-clad revellers, descends on the town centre, shutting down streets from 7 pm onwards and this year it’s no different. Taking place on Friday the 14th of September, this years theme is ‘Books and Authors” so expect an array of literary characters running around the Kendal streets, until 10 pm.

The carnival kicks off at 7 pm from Kendal Village before looping around the town centre and finally finishing up at Kendal Leisure centre at 10 pm.  During this time much of the main roads in the city will be closed down but will open promptly after the procession ends.

From decorated floats fashioned from all types of vehicles to dancing troupes and marching musicians, this is a great event, guaranteed to put a sparkle into the autumn night.
