Cockermouth, is a town built for those who enjoy a less hectic pace of of life. Its sleepy streets and serene setting are perfect for lazy days, dipping into pubs and browsing the local boutiques. The town and whole community at large has made a fantastic recovery since the 2009 floods and Cockermouth remains one of the prettiest and most historic towns in all of Cumbria. The newly-opened museum at JB Bank’s ironmongers, is a great little stop off, should you get bored of wandering.

If you are staying with us later in the year, don’t miss out on Cockermouth’s spectacular Christmas lights and The Cockermouth Beer Festival. Should you arrive earlier in the year, there are 15 bars and pubs in total in the city, including the Jennings Brewery tour.

There are amazing local facilities that the whole family can enjoy, such as the Kirkgate Arts Centre and the Leisure Centre and Pool. This sleepy corner of the world, was made for walking and cycling, so prepare for plenty of fresh air.
