Christmas Shopping at Carlisle City Centre

Why not get all your Christmas presents bought and wrapped, ahead of time and at your own leisurely pace this year? Avoid the crazy queues of the bigger metropolitan city centres and head to quieter Carlisle. There is still a plethora of great high street stores and interesting boutiques that will cater completely for your needs, in our neck of the woods. In the run-up to Christmas, late night Christmas shopping will take place every Thursday from the 19th of November, to the 17th of December. On these dates stores will be open until 9pm.

For your convenience Carlisle city council are providing free parking in the city centre and parks from 3pm onwards. The following sites: Bitts Park; Cecil Street; Civic Centre; Devonshire Walk; Lower Viaduct; Lowther Street; Paddy’s Market; The Sands Centre; Town Dyke Orchard and Upper Viaduct, will all offer free parking.
